On Android, iPhone & iPad

Add a Note by tapping anywhere in the "Add a Note" section of your To-Do's Detail View. 

On Mac, Windows & in the Web app

Add a Note by clicking anywhere in the Notes section (indicated by a yellow pencil icon). The entered text is saved automatically. Click on the small arrow in the upper-right hand corner of the Note to bring the Note into fullscreen view.
