What does synchronization mean?
Synchronization means that every task/list/note you create will be available on any other device you own that has Wunderlist installed on it . You can add tasks from your home desktop and see them on the road with your iPhone or Android device. You can log into the Web App from your friends computer and add that important task, or grab your iPad from your rucksack and add a new list. It's that simple. Always be in sync.
What do I have to do to keep my Wunderlist synchronized?
To keep your tasks in sync you firstly have to create a Wunderlist Account. Simply press register on the login screen, enter your email address and create a password, and you are logged in! From now on your tasks are saved online and you can access them from anywhere.
Make sure that you are logged in with the SAME account on every device
How do I sync manually?
There are several ways to sync Wunderlist manually:
- Manual sync is not required when using the Web App, changes are synced automatically. In the desktop app for PC and Mac, you can sync manually by pressing the small green sync button in the bottom left/bottom right corner (underneath your lists). When it stops spinning, synchronization is complete.
- On your iPhone/iPod, there are two ways to sync manually. When you are in the list view, you can simply press the small arrow button at the top left. This starts the synchronisation process. When you are in any other screen, you can pull down the screen and let go. This reveals a sync bar at the top of the screen, indicating the progress of the sync. When the bar disappears, the synchronization process is complete.
- On your Android Phone press the menu button when you are in the list overview or inside a list itself. Then hit the sync button presented in the popup.
- On your iPad you can simply press the small arrow button at the top left. This starts the synchronization process.
Does it sync automatically?
Yes, all of your Wunderlist Apps also sync automatically. The iPhone/iPod/iPad App/Android Apps sync every time they are opened or closed. They also sync shortly after every change. The desktop version syncs every 15 minutes and also on every start. The web app syncs automatically, all the time.
Where is the data saved?
The Over-The-Air Sync (OTA) or Cloud Sync works by saving the data onto servers provided by the Amazon s3 service.
Is my data secure?
Yes, your data is absolutely safe. No unauthorized persons have access to the data or the server. We respect your data fully and won't give it to any third party or other companies. To save your data, we store backups of the database for several days.
What can I do if I am experiencing sync problems?
If you are experiencing sync issues, please ensure you have an active internet connection. Synchronization requires a connection to the internet. If you have an internet connection but are still experiencing issues, try logging out of your account and log back in. If that does not help, please report the problem to us.
Does it sync with other programs?
No, right now Wunderlist does not synchronize with any other programs/services (such as Outlook, iCal, Google Tasks, Google Calender or MobileMe).
